ROBERT (BOB) HENRY GRAHAM III

Robert (Bob) Henry Graham III, died on October 13, 2021, at the age of 79, from complications of diabetes. He was born February 19, 1942. Bob was a resident of Hueytown, Alabama and had previously lived in the Pelham/Helena area of Shelby County for 32 years. Bob grew up in New Hyde Park, New York and left at the age of 17 to attend the University of Alabama. He graduated in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a minor in Statistics. He was a member Of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. He married Alice Jernigan on January 14, 1972. They would have been married 50 years in January. Bob worked in the Information Technology Department of Liberty National Life Insurance Company for 24 years and the Information Technology Department of O'Neal Steel for 16 years. He was last employed by Solstas Laboratories. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Lynn Graham, and his parents Robert and Gladys Graham. He is survived by his wife Alice Jernigan Graham; son Jeffrey Graham and his wife Amy; three grandchildren: Jacob (Jake) Graham, Benjamin (Ben) Graham, and Madeline (Maddie) Graham; one sister Gladys Lane; brother-in-law David W. Jernigan; two nieces Gigi Lane and Susie Lane (Keith Bub) and one nephew Jamie Lane (June); several great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends. Special thanks to friends Larry and Pam Evans for their friendship and generosity over the last forty plus years. They have shown us the meaning of true friendship. Thanks to all the doctors and nurses in the CICIJ at Princeton Baptist for the special care they showed Bob. Bob and Alice were long time Tide Pride members at the University of Alabama for both football and basketball until his health precluded him from attending games. He still followed all Alabama sports, especially football, softball, basketball and gymnastics. He was also an Atlanta Braves fan. The visitation will be Sunday, October 17, 2021, from 1:30 PM until at 2:30 PM, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home, 195 Brooklane Drive, Hueytown, AL 35023. The funeral service will be at 2:30 PM at the Funeral Home. Per Bob's request, he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the University of Alabama Athletic Department or the American Diabetes Association.
