LOTTIE MAE BLACKSTON JEWELL

Lottie Mae Blackston Jewell was born in Porter, Alabama on December 1,1948, and passed away January 23, 2026, after several years of illness and as a result of surgery from a broken hip. She was ready to go asking us many times why the Lord was leaving her here. Lottie was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years Ralph Bruce Jewell; daughter Tammie Dawn Jewell; parents Curtis Blackson and Bertha Mae Hicks Blackston; sisters Margie Metcalf (Jessie); Melba Piper (Hollis); Dorothy Bradley (Jack); Curtis Ann Warren; Judy Harvell; and brother Jerry Blackston. She is survived by her son Clint Jewell (Leah); grandchildren Abbie Hollis (Nick), Alyssa Jewell, Colten Jewell; great grandchildern Tucker, Anderson, Mack, Hollis, Bennett, & Griffin Jewell; twin sister-Linda Meadows; niece Dana Meadows; as well as other numerous nieces, nephews; and many cousins. She was a good wife, mother, sister, aunt, and neighbor. She had many friends at home and work.She was willing to help anyone in need. She really loved and spoiled her grandchildren. Her children and her twin’s daughter really had two mothers and were loved so much by both. Lottie enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers and passed that passion along to her niece, Dana and grandson, Colten. She loved animals and took Lottie was a longtime member of Maytown Baptist Church. She and her twin attended since the age of 2. She was saved at the age of 7 and has faithfully attended. Lottie and Linda worked with the children’s department and nursery for 50+ years. She loved the babies, hers and everybody else’s. Lottie was kind of shy and rather work behind the scenes. She was well known by the babies and children as well as their parents. such good care of them so that they all lived to be 18-19 years old. Lottie loved to cook and prepared many meals for her family and on holidays. Lottie worked In the insurance industry for 40+ years in two different companies. She retired from Pro Assurance officially, in 2013, but continued to work on a contract basis for several more years. She enjoyed the interaction with others and had many friends at both companies. The visitation will be Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Maytown Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM at the Church. Burial will follow at Williamsburg Baptist Cemetery, Adamsville.
