LOIS MARIE ROBINSON KELLEY

Lois Marie Robinson Kelley, age 98, of Bessemer, Alabama, entered her heavenly home peacefully, surrounded by the love and devotion of her family. She was born on April 18, 1928, in Bessemer to Mordecai and Lottie Robinson. Lois grew up in Bessemer and graduated from Bessemer High School. She later married the love of her life, Alton Clay Kelley, and together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and unwavering love. They were blessed with two sons, Donald Clay Kelley and Larry Joe Kelley, whom they cherished deeply. A faithful follower of Christ, Lois was a longtime member of Fairfield Highlands First Baptist Church, where she joyfully served in the church choir. Her strong faith guided every aspect of her life, and she shared God’s love through her kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit. She was known for her warm presence, her beautiful voice, and her steadfast devotion to those she loved. Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alton; and her cherished sons, Donald and Larry; her parents and sister Mary Carol Lacy "Betty". She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Carol Kelley, Melissa Hornbuckle (Grant), Clayton Kelley (Julie), and Kimberly Kelley. She was also blessed with great‑grandchildren Jon Kelley (Renee), Jackson Kelley, Natalie Bane, Peyton Hornbuckle (Maegan), Caitlin Kelley (Ty), Macie Kelley, Kihona Borders, and Titus Borders, and one treasured great‑great‑granddaughter, Brynlee Hornbuckle. Lois is also survived by her daughters‑in‑law Judy Kelley, Kathy Kelley, and Susie Riffle, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close. In her final years, Lois was lovingly cared for by her grandchildren, whose devotion allowed her to remain surrounded by family, comfort, and familiarity. Their care was a reflection of the love she had poured into them throughout her life. Though her family will miss her beyond measure, they rejoice in knowing she is reunited in Heaven with her beloved Kelley and her precious boys. Her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. The visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 13, 2026, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home.
