IRENE HANNAH STANLEY

STANLEY, IRENE HANNAH Age 88, of Hueytown, Alabama, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2012 after a long, courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. A native of Tuscaloosa County, she spent most of her life in Jefferson County. She was a member of West Highlands Baptist Church and retired from Bruno's Corporation. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Earnest Stanley; her mother, Louise Snow Hannah and her father and stepmother, Earl and Mary Hannah; her brother, Raymond Hannah; and her sisters, Lora Jean Busby and Alice Price. She is survived by her daughters, Earnestine (Buddy) Williams of Clanton, Willodean (James) Salter of Hueytown and Eulene (Kenneth) Bishop of Florence; sons, Johnny Earnest (Valoree) Stanley of Cropwell and David Dwaine (Janet) Stanley of Hueytown; grandchildren, who deeply loved their Maw, Angela Bishop (Tony) Ricketts, Debbie Williams (Rev. Mike) Glasgow, Lisa Salter (Chris) Dickey; Denise Bishop (Tim) Cobb, Kathy Salter Odom, Sharon Williams (Scott) Brandstadt, Nicole Tritt, Alyssa Stanley (Chris) Whitt, Kevin Tritt and Kaylen Stanley; great grandchildren, Devan Cobb, Jonathan Dickey, Rachel Dickey, Haylee Odom and Caden Geeslin; brothers, Rubin Hannah, Melvin (Iva Lee) Hannah, Thomas Edward Hannah and Charles (Eloise) Hannah; brother-in-law, J.L. Price; sisters, Larine Bush, Ruby Farrell, Frances (Billy) McCall, Christine (Archie) Dotson, and Delores Martin. Mrs. Stanley is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and was special to them all. We wish to express our "Sincere Thanks" to Dr. Linda Hudson, Dr. David Schultz, Dr. Warner Huh, the staff of Hospice Complete (especially Charleen Thomas and Marsha Martin); also, Kerry Prickett, Pharmacist, and all the staff of Medical Center Pharmacy at UAB West. Services will be held at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home, 195 Brooklane Drive, Hueytown, AL 35023 (205-497-2273) on Friday May 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer, AL. immediately following the services. Visitation will be held from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Bro. Michael Glasgow and Bro. Buddy Majors will be officiating.
