CYNTHIA McKAIG

In loving memory of Cynthia McKaig born June 23, 1941. Lifetime resident of the Birmingham, Alabama area. Cynthia passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Cynthia was a devoted Christian whose faith was the foundation of her life. Cynthia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister , and friend who will be remembered for her kindness, integrity, and unwavering love for her family. Cynthia retired after many years of dedicated service with Hueytown as a magistrate. Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband, Derrell McKaig, who was a member of the Masons while Cynthia served as an officer in the Eastern Star and Amaranth. She was also preceded by her son, Michael Wayne Bice. Cynthia is survived by her son, Charles Allcorn and his family, as well as Cynthia’s sister, Rebekah, with her sons, Charlie and Curtis. Cynthia is also survived by her deceased son’s daughter, Brandy Nix and her family. All total Cynthia leaves behind 7 grandkids, 9 great-grandkids, and 1 great-great grandchild. Cynthia also leaves behind her cherished Eastern Star and Amaranth comembers and all of the friendship and support meant so much to her throughout the years. Cynthia earned the respect of coworkers through her strong work ethic dependability and commitment to excellence. Above all, Cynthia treasured her family and the time she spent with those she loved. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Oaks on Parkwood and ProHealth Hospice for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Cynthia and his family during her final days. The funeral service will be Wenesday, August 5, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Peoples Chapel with visitation from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. The burial will be at Village falls, Brother Michael Wallace officiating. Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we find comfort in the assurance of her faith and the promise of eternal life. Cynthia’s legacy of love, kindness, integrity, and devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
