VERNON "LYNN" BAKER

Vernon ”Lynn” Baker, age 63 of Bayview, AL, passed away at home surrounded by his family and friends on April 3, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Lisa Baker, son Eric Baker (Julie),daughter Ashley Baker(John McCrary), grandsons Jacob, Eli, Camden, and Jonah, and his Princesses Erinn, Harper, and Ava. He also leaves behind a host of sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and friends that he adored. He was preceded in death by his parents, Linda and Louie Baker, sisters Martha Baker and Joyce Hulsey. Lynn’s laughter was contagious and he was often described as the life of the party. His personality was big but his love for his family was even bigger. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, four wheeler riding, NASCAR races, and Alabama football, though spending time with his family was his favorite by far. Often he was found just hanging out in his garage awaiting a friend to ride by and chat, under the hood of a car, or at a grandkid’s ballgame. Although Lynn recently retired he worked for 30 years at Premier Chevrolet in Bessemer, AL where his expertise and personality will be missed terribly. For many years he also worked races at Talladega and Birmingham International Raceway, Bruno’s Memorial Classic, and numerous events at Legion Field. Many of his closest friends came from these experiences and he always made work days a lot more fun. Celebration of Life Ceremony with Jade Beck officiating will take place in the upcoming weeks, details to come. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
