On Wednesday, November 4, Pamela “Pam” Hogan Acker, loving daughter, sister, and mother of three children passed away at age 63. Pam was born on January 22, 1957 in Birmingham, Alabama to James and Wanda Hogan. She was a registered nurse for over thirty years who treated and served the countless patients who were blessed to be in her care. She raised two daughters, Natalie Sadler and Olivia Butler, and one son, John “Aaron” Acker. Pam’s passion and hobby were her family. She was the consummate matriarch to her children and grandchildren, and they were the constant focus of her time, attention, and love. She adored her grandchildren and doted over them endlessly. She cherished spending time with all of her family members, and she loved to plan, organize, and participate in family events, holiday gatherings, and trips. Whenever Pam planned an event, she always went big, and no one ever left hungry. Pam was known for her dry sense of humor and her kind spirit. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and blessed the lives of many through her actions and church service. Service to others was a constant theme in Pam’s life as she always put the needs and wants of others above her own. Pam was preceded in death by her father, James. She is survived by her mother Wanda, her brothers, Byron and Jeff Hogan and their wives (Nancy and Allison), her children, Natalie, Olivia, and Aaron and their spouses (Jason, Josh, and Grace), her fourteen grandchildren, Karli Butler, Kylie Butler, Megan Sadler, Mason Sadler, Griffin Sadler, Eli Butler, Scarlett Acker, Mia Butler, Graham Sadler, Sadie Acker, Archie Acker, Lucy Butler, Rhett Acker, and Savannah Acker, and many beloved aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 813 Briarwood Drive in Bessemer, Alabama with a funeral service immediately following.
