ONGELENE FOSTER MOORE

Ongelene "Ongia" Foster Moore, born May 8, 1936 in Columbiana, Alabama, went on to be with her Heavenly Father on June 22, 2020 at the age of 84. She resided in Concord, Alabama with her husband of 65 years. Ongia loved her family and everyone around her. She loved God and she loved to laugh. She attended nursing school with her daughter in 1976 and went on to work as a nurse for one year. She then went on to work side by side with her husband for over 50 years at their hometown drug store known as Moore’s Pharmacy. She was known by many names such as Ongelene, Ongia, Momma, Mrs. Moore, Mawmaw, Mawmaw Moore, and Ms. Ongia. If you were fortunate enough to call her by one of these names then you knew first hand the kind of love she had for others. She loved God and on her final day she said “I want to see Jesus.” Ongia was preceded in death by her parents Ferman and Jewel Foster, her son Keith Moore and her sister Claudine Potter. Survived by her beloved husband, Earl Howard Moore; daughter, Marena Hall (Danny); Daughter in-law, Jenny Moore; four grandchildren, Jeromy Hall (Jessica), Dana Williams (Casey), Meagan Hyde (David), Trent Moore; and 10 great grandchildren. The visitation will be Wednesday, June 24, 2020, from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 2:00 PM at Highland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to United Ability, www.unitedability.org, for her grandson Trent Moore.
