MAXIE TERRY CARR

Maxie Terry Carr, a 78 year resident of Bessemer, AL passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Brenda Ayres Carr, his son Jake Maxie Carr (Donna), daughter Candi Carr Schober (Andy). “Pop” was especially proud of his four grandchildren and their many accomplishments. Kristin Schober Graham (Jordan), Kimberly Erin Schober, Benjamin Jake “BJ” Carr (Haley) and Meghan Elizabeth Carr. He is also survived by his sister June Carr Grammer, brother in law, Larry Kenneth Ayres and niece Tracy Ayres Frost (Billy). Maxie was born and a life long resident of the Birmingham area. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and along with Brenda had many adventures on the road. Even after giving up riding, he enjoyed tinkering with and building many bikes in his home garage. His greatest joy was his family. He and Brenda enjoyed countless fun times at the river and beach with family and friends. There was never a lack of great food, many laughs, lively music and the occasional dance with Brenda. Maxie retired from Acosta Sales after a 30+ year career in the consumer food industry. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who were lucky enough to call him a friend. The family will host a memorial service at the Carr residence on Sunday, October 25, at 3:00 p.m. The service will be a casual outside event so all wishing to attend can safely do so while social distancing.
