James Eric Weaver Porter, 18, of Alabaster, passed away July 11, 2020. James graduated from Thompson High School. He was always in the gifted programs at school. He loved computers and intended to go to college to learn programming. James was preceded in death his grandmothers Linda Goodwin and Carol Weaver. He is survived by his mother Stacie Porter (Dad Thomas Porter); father Jason Weaver; sisters Laci Porter and Katie Scruggs; brothers Jake Weaver (Haley), and Joseph Weaver; grandparents Thomas and Nancy Porter, and Susan Scruggs; aunts Brandy Fields (Darrick), Nancy Hays (Gordon), and Jennifer Lathram; niece Amelia Weaver; and cousins Madison Makala Fields. The visitation will be Wednesday, July 15, 2020, from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 11:00 AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers to the family suggests donation to Epilepsy and Seizure Research.
