Howard Dale Odom, 80 of Concord passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021. He worked at American Cast Iron Pipe Company in Birmingham as a machinist for 37 years. He was a faithful member of Union Hill Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher in the College and Career Class and the Adult Men’s Class for many years. He was also a Deacon Ameritus. Howard was an avid turkey hunter and loved to be in the outdoors. He made turkey calls and sold them in local hunting stores. He grew up in Parrish, Alabama. He also served in the Army National Guard for six years.A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 (his birthday), at Union Hill Baptist Church, 7049 Taylors Ferry Road, Rock Creek, Alabama. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The service will be at 11:00. Burial at Valhalla Cemetery. If you cannot attend, the service will be streamed live via Facebook at Union Hill Rock Creek Alabama.Preceded in death by his father Dalton M. Odom, mother Ruby J. Odom, his infant son Michael Dale Odom, and his nephew James Odom, Jr. Survived by his wife, Nancy Sue Odom. Daughters Kelly Border (Shawn) and Tracie Thomas (Chris). Grandchildren: Lindsay Cannon (Jeff), Zachary Hodgens, Trent Hodgens, Matthew Thomas and Adam Thomas. Also survived by his siblings: James Odom (Betty), Larry Odom (Sandra), Richard Odom (Brenda), Elizabeth Bean (Bob). Six nephews four nieces many cousins.Family requests that memorials be made to Union Hill Baptist Church (First Fruits Mission Offering), Alabama Kidney Foundation, and/or Kidz Outdoors, Inc.We are thankful for the Doctors and staff at Fresenius Kidney Care for all of the great care they provided over the past 14 months. We will be forever grateful to them for all of their love and support.
