Hewlett O. Leatherwood, age 74, of Bessemer, AL, passed away February 13, 2022. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of New Life Worship Center, Sylvan Springs. He was a welder by trade. He was preceded in death by his parents Verdon and Hazel Leatherwood, son Roy Hyche, and his brothers Festus, Richard, David. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Patricia Leatherwood; children Mark Leatherwood (Charlotte), Alisha Brooks (James), Robin White (Paul); grandchildren Davis, Mayle, Travis, Gerica, Cameron, Taylor and Aaron; numerous great grandchildren. The visitation will be Wednesday February 16, 2022, from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at the 2:00 PM.
