HAROLD DAVID SALTER Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On Sunday December 6, 2020, Harold David Salter, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 65. David was born on November 3, 1955 in Birmingham, AL to “Paw” Harold and “Maw” Jackie Salter. David graduated Oak Grove High School in 1973. He married Rebecca C. Salter in 1999, they raised two sons, Michael and Matt Salter, and one daughter, Angie Whitfield. They had nine grandkids, Amberly, Aaron, Hannah, Savannah, Matti, Jackson, Keith, Blake, and Valerie. David worked at Barbers Dairy Milk Company where he retired from and had worked for 32 years. If you knew David, AKA Gramps what the grandkids liked to call him, you know he loved fishing. He spent many days on the river or lake somewhere. He was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and all his jokes he loved to tell. David was preceded in death by his father Harold and his daughter Angie. He is survived by his mother Jackie; wife Rebecca; two sons Michael and Matt; nine grandkids; brother Gary; and two sisters Christy and Karen; one aunt Debra, several great grandkid, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The visitation will be Friday, December 11, 2020, from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery.
