GARY ALAN CRIM

Gary Alan Crim was born June 27, 1951 and died March 6, 2022. He was predeceased by his parents Robert (Honey) Crim and Odell Crim (Garzarek). Gary was the youngest of 4 children Gwendolyn (Betty) Hyche and Helen Carter, both deceased and is survived by his brother James R. Crim (JoAnn). Gary is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, all who called him affectionately “Unk…Just plain Unk”. Gary was a 1970 graduate of Hueytown High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving honorably on active duty for 3 years. Semper Fi Unk! After the Marines he continued his public service as a firefighter for Concord Volunteer Fire Department. He served as Secretary for the Alabama Association of Volunteer Fire Department (AAVFD)and received EMT of the year for 1979 from Birmingham Regional Emergency Medical Service (BREMS). Unk was an avid fisherman and loved fishing in both salt water and fresh water, putting together several trips to the Gulf for family and friends. Unk will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be held at The National Cemetery in Montevallo AL on Friday March 25, 2022 at 2:45 pm {1445}. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to service time (per National Cemetery requirement).
