FRANCES STEVENS GILMORE

Frances Stevens Gilmore, 91 of Fairfield and Hueytown, AL passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019. Throughout her adult life, Frances shared her love for God and for music in many ways. She was an organist and choir director at Fairfield First United Methodist Church, Ensley Highlands United Methodist Church, and Jonesboro United Methodist Church before retiring as Organist Emeritus at Hueytown First United Methodist Church. She and “Red” were also founding members of The Bessemer Civic Chorale, where they loved being part of Handel’s Messiah each year. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald “Red” Gilmore. Frances is survived by her son Ken Gilmore (Ann) and daughters Pat Gilmore Sims (Jerry) and Kristi Gilmore; her grandchildren Jeremy Sims, Adam Sims (Keri), Joel Sims (Lindsay), Katye Sims Williamson (Matt), David Gilmore (Melissa), Kevin Gilmore, Samuel Lehner, and Mary Gilmore, and eight great grandchildren. The visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Hueytown First Untited Methodist Church. The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM at the Church. Burial wil follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Shelby Ridge Rehab Select for their excellent care and love provided to her during her time as a resident. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to her church – Hueytown First United Methodist Church, 110 Sunset Drive, Hueytown, AL 35023.
