DAVID WORTHINGTON MADDOX Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

David Worthington Maddox, age 63, passed away on July 8, 2022 in Birmingham, AL surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend who fought a courageous two-and-a-half year battle with bladder cancer. David graduated from Vestavia Hills High School in 1977. He worked as a warehouse manager for Vision Security Technologies. Although he was a hard worker, he always made sure to dedicate ample time for riding his Harley with his wife, camping and fishing with his family, and cheering on his beloved Auburn Tigers during football season. David is survived by his wife, Nancy Maddox; his children, Lacie Maddox, Lori (Billy) Harris, Tom Duncan, and Rebecca (Joshua) Culpepper; his grandchildren, Ayden and Brynlee Duncan, Jaxon and Hudson Culpepper, and Madison Harris; and his brother, Steve (Bobbie) Maddox, Jr. He is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Martha Maddox, and his brother, James Maddox. The visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home in Hueytown, AL. A funeral service to celebrate David’s life will be held at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Patterson-Forest Grove Cemetery in Pleasant Grove. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network, Midway United Methodist Church, or a charity of your choice.
