With great sadness, we announce the passing of Cynthia C. Allums (“Cindy”) to natural causes. She was a devoted wife and loving mother who had a soft spot for stray animals. Cindy Allums of Rock Creek, Alabama, passed away on April 24, 2021, after reaching the age of 67. After many years of struggling with multiple health problems, she died peacefully within her home. Cindy was born on a Military Base in South Carolina on December 23, 1953, to James D. Cooley and Elsie Mordecai. She grew up in the Hueytown Community, graduated from Hueytown High School in 1972, and attended Jefferson State Community College. She went on to work in the banking industry at NBC Bank then transferred to Amsouth Bank. Just after high school, on June 22, 1972, she married Stephen H. Allums (“Steve”). They went on to have three children. Their 48-year marriage is a testament to their commitment and is a great example for us all. Cindy loved her family, loved to cook for her family and the dog, had an eye for decorating, and was always up for an adventure, such as softball, weather skiing, biking, snow skiing, snorkeling, fishing, or canoeing.
