CURTIS JONES III Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Curtis Jones III, age 64, of Hueytown passed away Thursday July 28th at home. Curt graduated from Hueytown high school in 1976. After graduation, he attended Bessemer Technical College and worked as a construction superintendent for 42 years until his retirement in 2016. Curt was most proud of leading crews in building the UAB's Eye Foundation and Children's South Hospital. Curt loved hunting, auburn football, his girls, grand kids, and his dog Shay. He was the best cook who took his recipes to the grave as we were not allowed in his kitchen. We all know he is enjoying his deer stand up in Heaven. Curt was proceeded in death by his parents Shirley and Curtis Jones Jr, son in law Matthew Franklin, and grand son Skylar. Curt leaves behind to celebrate his life- his wife of 44 years, Tammy Jones, Daughters-Jennifer Jones, Jessica Simmons (Derek), and Rachel Latta (Justin), Grandsons- Jacob and William Latta. His brother Carey Jones (Sabrina), his sisters Vickie Taylor (Jimmy) and Kristy Glassford (Todd), and a host of nieces, nephews, aunt and uncles. Visitation to be held Wednesday, August 3rd from 1-2pm at Peoples Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2pm. Burial to follow at Valley Creek Cemetery. Officiating Greg Traweek.
