Charles Golden, Sr., age 87, of Bessemer, Al., passed away August 27, 2019. He retired from Bristol Steel. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Lowell and Lucinda Golden; son Charles “Chucky” Golden, Jr.; and his sister Jackie Washington. He is survived by his wife Billie Ruth Golden; children Kathy Wiersma (Jim), Annette Dennis (Mark), Monica Gallups (Dennis), Tammie Dabbs (Barry), Lynda Prince (Charles, Jr.), Vicky Marcum (Joey), David Scales (Sharon), and Ricky Scales; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers J. L. Golden (Gladys), Dowell Golden (Darlene), and Don Golden (Margene); sister Helen Nelson (Jim); a host of extended family and friends. Visitation will be Friday, August 30, 2019, from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove First Baptist Cemetery.
