BETTY MOODY BURKS Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Betty Moody Burks, born August 24, 1953 - December 12, 2020. Betty Moody Burks age 67 of Hueytown slipped the surly bonds of earth and entered the arms of her Savior on December 12, 2020. Betty graduated in 1971 from Hueytown High School after which she pursued a career in nursing at St. Vincent's School of Nursing where she graduated in 1974. Betty devoted her life to caring for others over a 41 year nursing career. She loved her family her friends and her Lord. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Letha Moody, and her loving husband of 32 years Jim Clay Burks. She is survived by her sons Nathan Burks (Fiance Kaitlyn Carlton) and Travis of Hueytown. Brothers Roger Moody (Gene) of Hueytown. Robert Moody (Joyce) of Camden South Carolina. And a host of nieces and nephews. The visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 2:30 PM Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, with Bro. Ray Glover officiating. The family would like to thank Baron House of Hueytown and Comfort Care Hospice for their kindness in caring for Betty. In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made to the Marietta Phillips Memorial Nursing Scholarship at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
