Archie Lee Dotson, 81, passed from this life and into the arms of Jesus on January 26, 2022. He was a retired welder, talented musician, gospel singer and songwriter. He and his gospel singing group visited the church where Christine Hannah was the church pianist in 1961. It was love at first sight. Three months later they interrupted a singing at Fieldstown Church of God to get married. This began a lifelong commitment to their gospel singing ministry. The Dotson Family shared the gospel of Christ for 52 years. Archie will be remembered as a happy family man with a playful sense of humor. He was a patient music teacher and enjoyed sharing his talents with others. He offered advice to his family and friends when asked, but only after prayerful consideration. He was tender and kind-hearted and has been known to literally give the shirt off his back. Archie is preceded in death by his parents, Garlon and Darthulia Dotson; wife, Christine Hannah Dotson; Siblings: James (Nell) Dotson, Pervis Houston (Quilla) Dotson, and Willie Mae (Carl) Farris; Son-In-Law, Thomas Marvin Russell. He is survived by daughters Chrysta Russell and Alicia (Wes) Bright; Grandchildren: Wes Brokus, Lauren Russell (Ryan), Evan (Destinie) Russell, and Luke Bright. Great-Grandchildren: Grant Brokus, Hannah Beth Russell, and Evie Csokasy. The visitation will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, followed by a celebration of his life at 2:00 PM at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home in Hueytown. Brother Ed Frazier officiating. A private family burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
