WILLIAM D. "DANNY" WALLACE

William D. "Danny" Wallace, age 74 passed away February 9, 2026, in Tarpon Springs, FL. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Bolton Wallace; father, William H. Wallace “Bill”; and son, William C. Wallace “Chad”. He is survived by his wife, Elena (Tarpon Springs); sister Suzanne Wallace (Hueytown); granddaughter, Amber Wallace (Hoover); stepson Nick Rubin (Iveta) (Chicago); uncle Larry Wallace (Barbara) (Hueytown); aunt Barbara Wallace Amick (Concord); and numerous cousins. Danny was born March 18, 1951, at Bessemer General Hospital and grew up in the Hueytown community of Garywood. He graduated with the Class of 1969 from Hueytown High School. He attended the University of Alabama, graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of the National Mechanical Engineering Honor Society and was an avid Crimson Tide fan. In 1973 he joined Amoco as a mechanical engineer. Over the course of a distinguished 36-year career with Amoco/BP he held a variety of roles with increasing responsibility serving at plants and offices in Decatur, AL; Chocolate Bayou, TX; Cooper River, SC; Geel, Belgium; Chicago, IL; and TNK-BP, Russia. He retired in 2009 after which he was contracted by BP from June, 2010, to March 2014 to work the Gulf Coast Oil Spill in New Orleans. In 2008 he married Elena Zhukovets from Moscow, Russia. In 2014 they retired to Tarpon Springs, FL where they shared a love of their pets, traveling, fishing and spending time with their circle of friends. The visitation will be 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Monday, March 16, 2026, at North Highlands Baptist Church, 4851 15th Street Rd., Hueytown, AL 35023. A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 PM, officiated by his cousin Michael Wallace. Burial will follow on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (crohnscolitisfoundation.org).
