VIKKI PIERSON

Vikki Pierson, age 64, was called to be with her lord, peacefully from her home on October 24th, 2023, with her loving husband by her side. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Roy “Tony” Pierson; son, Joseph (Nicole) Pierson; sister, Margaret (Eddy) Black; and brother Henry (Tammy) Fields and many Nieces, Nephews, and cousins who all adore her. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Fields and mother, Margaret Lucille Fields. Vikki was born on December 4th, 1958, to Joe and Lucille. She was the oldest of the three siblings. She attended Oak Grove High School where she played the saxophone in the concert, jazz, and marching bands. She graduated with an advanced diploma in 1977 and went on to study two years at Bessemer State Technical College. Vikki spent her career working in various rolls and positions in Bessemer Caraway/UAB Medical West Hospital. She was reacquainted with the love of her life, who had been a childhood friend, while attending Garywood Assembly of God. They married there on June 6th, 1980. She later attended Caffee Junction Church of God with her husband and only son, Joseph. Vikki had a love for God that inspired many. Because of this, she devoted a lot of her time to various ministries at the church and ministered in any way that she could. She has always been very artistic and creative and was able to use this ability to paint various murals for Sunday school rooms, backdrops for plays, and drive through nativity sets. She has always had a heart for kids and ministered for years as a youth leader and youth praise band leader. Her contagious smile and lovable personality drew kids in and allowed her to create positive memories that people will remember for a lifetime. Outside of church, you could find her spending time with pets and family as well as cheering on her Crimson Tide. She also had a love for all things outdoors especially Mountain Biking and Kayaking with her son and friends. She was always considered the fun Mom, Sister, Aunt, Friend, and light of the room. She was loved and cherished by many. We find peace in knowing that her legacy will live on through the many lives that she impacted in a positive way. A public graveside service will be held on Friday, October 27th at 2:00pm at Adger cemetery. All that knew Vikki are encouraged to attend. Adger cemetery is located at 7200 Johns Rd Adger, AL
