SHON TERES ROSS

Shon Teres Ross, 57, went to be with her Savior early in the morning on January 19th, 2022. Shon was born on July 12th, 1964 in Hollywood, CA. She is the oldest of 6 children. She married the love of her life, Wayne Louis Ross, on April 28th, 1984 in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple. Their love lives on through the eternities with the promises they made to each other there. Her life is not defined by career milestones or the places she lived. It is defined by the relationships she cultivated and the love she gave. She loved her parents and adored her siblings. She continued the close relationships they had throughout her life. She rejoiced in her children and grandchildren. Her ability to love so strongly has profoundly impacted each of her children and grandchildren. Through her example they were given values and ideals that have shaped their lives. She delighted in her friends. She made many friends along the way, each one being a vital part of her story. She is preceded in death by her father, Edson Glade Maughan and Son, Nathaniel Reed Ross. She is survived by her mother, Bonnie Maughan; Husband, Wayne Louis Ross; 12 of her 13 Children - Jonathan Ross, Clarissa (Angel-Ociel) Castelan, Christina Allen, Katrina (Adam) Wright, Rudy Ross, Robert “Bobby” Ross, Jacob Ross, Jason Ross, Alyssa Ross, Matthew Ross, Eden Ross and Elijah Ross; 7 Grandchildren - Zachariah, Roman, Maria, Marissa, Mariah, Mackenzie and Carter; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She endured a long term illness with faith, courage and an ever present smile. She succumbed to that illness in the University of Alabama, Birmingham Hospital with her eternal companion by her bedside. She will be dearly missed but her testimony lives on in us all. In her own words - “We can never fully understand all the workings of God. He sees and understands all things. So often because we don’t immediately see an answer to a prayer we start thinking we haven’t been heard, we are being ignored, or that He doesn’t care. I want to testify that this is sooo very far from the truth!! EVERYTHING God has done, is doing, and plans to do is for our best good. He understands how important this time on earth is and that it will greatly influence our next step in our journey. It is so important that we develop a relationship with Him and communicate with Him daily. He will never fail you!!! And if it feels like He is being silent, often that is Him saying “I trust you to spread your wings and try creating on your own. I’ll pick you up if you need help.” I hope each of us can more fully communicate with our Father and allow Him to be the center of our lives.
