GAIL CROWSON JONES

Surrounded by her loving husband and family, Gail Crowson Jones passed away October 20, 2020. We can only imagine the joy she felt being reunited with her beloved family members as she gazed upon the majesty of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Gail) was born in Jefferson County on May 7, 1937, and married the love of her life, Buddy on June 2, 1961. They had four daughters. Gail was a loving and devoted wife and Mother. Gail loved flowers and the Christmas season which led her to her work at the Garden Center at Kmart Midfield for many years where she shared her extensive knowledge of all growing things and arranging beautiful Christmas displays. She had a passion for cooking the best homemade meals and no one ever left her house hungry. She will be truly missed by all that knew her. We thank our Heavenly Father knowing she is no longer suffering and is completely healed by God’s grace. Gail was preceded in death by parents, Willie Jackson Crowson and Margie Estelle Reach Crowson of Birmingham. Daughter, Patsy Jones Chambers of Pleasant Grove, Brothers Joseph Willie Crowson of Tampa, Jack Douglas Crowson of Graysville and Billy Ray Crowson of Birmingham. Sisters, Hazel Crowson Gardner of Birmingham, Helen Crowson McBraryer of Birmingham, Jeanette Crowson Campbell of Hanceville and Linda Crowson McDonald of Hanceville. Gail is survived by husband, Buddy Jones, Hanceville, daughters, Belinda Jones of Hueytown, Penelope McCrary (Ronald) of Lakeview and Connie Yarber (Brian) of Chelsea, Wayne Chambers (son in law) of Pleasant Grove; grandchildren Lee Chambers (Candice) of Oak Grove, Chad Logan (Halie) of Alabaster, Ashlee LeJeune (David) of Helena, Colby Logan of Birmingham, Chase Storey of Birmingham, Rylee Storey (Tanner Thomas) of Alabaster and Preston Green of Chelsea. The visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM, Monday, October 26, 2020, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 12:45 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, at 2:45 PM. Gail’s love and concern for all children and their health and well-being was a priority and her family would like to ask that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Saint Judes Children’s Hospital.
