DANIEL JAMES "JIMMY" CAINE

On this 21st day of October 2025, Daniel James Caine (Jimmy) 96 of Bessemer went to be with his lord and savior Jesus Christ. Surrounded by his loving Family at his home. Now we are relieved he is at peace and we praise God for that peace. He was born May 1st, 1929, in Jefferson County Alabama to his parents who preceded him in death, Ruth Scott and Irving Durand. Along with all of his siblings, Frances (Foy Jr.) Spencer, Esther (Okie) Towers, Thomas and Harold Caine. What a reunion that must have been. Jimmy was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Olga Jeannine Jenkins Caine. She was his traveling partner as they traveled the U.S. and Canada. Now they are strolling through Heaven together forever. With their daughter Elizabeth (Beth) Maddox and daughter-in-law Robbie Caine. He is survived by two sons, Phil Caine (Beverly) and Dan Caine of Bessemer; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Carl Jenkins of Gadsden; 2 sisters-in-law, Delle Caine of Hueytown and Barbara Caine of North Carolina; and many loving nieces, nephews and other family members. His two loyal friends, Wayne Posey and Dave Donaldson, we thank them for their friendship with Jimmy. His wonderful neighbors the Essman’s. We can’t forget Rena, his dog. She was his loving companion. Jimmy retired after 42 years with U.S. Steel. He was an electrician and 4th generation employee. He followed in his grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather’s footsteps. Jimmy was a faithful member of Grace Presbyterian church for 25 years where he served as a deacon for many years. The family wants to thank Pro-Health Hospice Care staff and his nurse, Angela, and also his sitters: Brandy, Kathy, and Kristen. Pallbearers will be grandsons Eric Caine, Logan Caine, and Bryan Maddox, who is Jimmy’s first-born grandson, born on Jimmy’s Birthday May 1st, grandson-in-law Josh Campbell, nephew Logan Caine, nephew-in-law Dave Hadder neighbor and Honorary Pallbearer Ladd Essman. The visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Peoples Chapel in Hueytown from 1:00 PM until-2:00 PM. The graveside service will be at Highland Memorial Gardens at 2:30PM, with Rev. Thomas Joseph officiating.
