GERALD F. "TUBBY" CAFFEE

Gerald F. “Tubby” Caffee, 92, of West Blocton Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2022, at his home in West Blocton. Gerald “Tubby” Caffee was born in Virginia Mines to Herman and Margaret Caffee on March 30, 1930. He worked as an electrician at Jim Walter Resources Central Office. He was a member of UMWA District 20 Local 2427. He never met a stranger and was one of the humblest men you could ever meet. He enjoyed listening to and playing music and you could always hear him humming a tune. He was always up for an adventure and loved to travel and see things he had never seen before. He most of all enjoyed spending time with family. Spending time with his grandchildren brought great joy into his life. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Herman & Margaret Caffee. Sister Helen Muir, brother Lonnie Caffee and brother Bo Caffee and wife Iris Caffee. Gerald leaves behind his wife Lorene Caffee, Sons: Jerry Caffee (Diane), Barry Caffee (Martha). Step-Children: Bobbie Jean White (Randy), Mike Lowe (Estella) and Sonya Twitty (Bill). He is survived also by his grandchildren: Ben Caffee (Samantha), Daniel Caffee (Cristina), Jake Caffee (Rachel), Holly Craft (Caleb), Sam Caffee (Hannah), David Caffee (Anna), Zachary Caffee (Chloe), Mary Hathaway (Cameron), Andrew Caffee (Jessie), Adam Caffee (Grace), Matthew Caffee, Olivia Caffee, Edward Caffee, Mitchell Martin, Somer (Jamie) Shadwick, Chris Lowe, Adam Lowe (Lara), Jennifer Lowe, Paul Twitty (Leah), Bradley Twitty, Cory Twitty, Marcelis Twitty. Great Grandchildren: Molly, Tim, Maddie, Claire, Penny, Charlotte, Josh, Justin, Lyric, Luke, Zoe, Emma, Judah, Lily, Iris, Abe, Violet, Levi, Amos, Asa, baby Caffee, Alice, Kate, Evie, baby Caffee, Logan, Arthur, Henry, Christopher, Cassidy, Conner, Cameron, Braden, Sean, Lily, Tyler, Adian and Kenzley. The pallbearers will be his grandchildren. The visitation will be held at from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home in Hueytown. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, at the Funeral Home, with Dale Jones of First McCalla Baptist Church, and Keith Ellis of New Life Woodstock officiating. Burial will follow at Generys Gap Cemetery.
